From a young age, I found people's pain appealing. The beauty in happiness is easier to spot, but I can always see beauty through sadness. The same pain fell on me in my teenage years - I experienced Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). My talent for empathy became a curse. From time to time, I sought extreme emotions to feed my inner beast. I felt empty and could not be on my own.
When it happened, I used to walk in nature for hours to refill my energy. I spent years rediscovering, accepting myself, and rebuilding my connection with the world. At first, I used art to express emotions and ease my pain. After I walked out of this dark period, my art became a bridge connecting my inner and outer worlds. It is my only accurate language to describe such abstract feelings and experiences.
Nature and the human psyche have become two main themes in my art creation. I start by doing illustrations and traditional hand-drawn animations. Meanwhile, I always attempt to create with various mediums: collage animation, stop-motion animation, and surreal 3D modeling. I love to explore different materials and create strong visual effects.
Through different mediums, I want to bring a lively, immersive world of the psyche to us. I seek to make individual feelings collective and tangible -- and reveal the humanity behind them.
